Art at the Square Exhibition
Location 15 Berkeley Square, Clifton, Bristol
Time 10:00am - 11:00pm
Art at the Square

Autumn exhibition September 24th-December 5th

Art at the Square’s remit is to give exposure to Bristol’s artist community working in all manner of media. The new autumn exhibition brings together three interesting and established artists all committed to being versatile in the way they capture humanity and express their own in real and abstract shapes and forms.

Alison Black’s large and vibrant abstracts are drawn from cultural references and urban iconography and are becoming highly sought after as her standing as an emerging talent continues to grow. Her collection of cityscapes completely sold out and the Square exhibition will showcase new work of pure abstraction that revels in the untamed nature of graffiti whilst retaining figurative elements.

Sculptor Julian Cox was elected to the Royal British Society of Sculptors in 2006 and his work has been sold through a range of galleries, shows and auctions across the UK. He has now broadened his repertoire to include original and unique Indian ink drawings of nudes and abstract designs inspired by the figure and calligraphic forms.

Effortless and beautiful, these drawings offer an opportunity for people to purchase an experienced artist’s work at a very affordable price.

Exhibition curator Catherine Raspail always seeks out a photographic talent for the third element of these popular shows. This season documentary film maker Belinda Kirk’s portraits bring a reality check by revealing hidden lives from every corner of the world. This collection of photographs celebrate the exotic diversity of humanity and also highlight human rights and conservation issues.

Belinda works as a documentary film director and camerawoman and her photographs have been widely published, most recently on the front cover and internal photos for 'Bear Grylls Born Survivor' (Channel 4 books) and 'Bear Grylls Man Vs Wild' (Hyperion books).

The Autumn exhibition starts on September 24th with a private viewing, for tickets please contact CSPR.

The exhibition is open to the public from 10am – 10pm Monday – Sunday.
