Thursday 3rd July

That was the day that Bristol Rovers picked up a double whammy of signings, forking out six-figure sums for the likes of Darryl Duffy from Swansea and Ben Hunt from West Ham United. Claire Stanley was there for the unveiling and spoke to boss Paul Trollope.

As the Royal Navy announced £4bn was being pumped in to construct two new aircraft carriers, we caught up with the Bristol designers. Staying with the theme of water, the chief of Bristol's anti-loan shark team revealed how illegal money lenders often prey on the vulnerable here in the city.

PLUS as oil reached another high Original's finance man Dan Partridge predicted further increases.

Wednesday 2nd July

Avon and Somerset police joined us with more on the Bristol man, who was stabbed in a car park in broad daylight in Southmead.

Dame Kelly Holmes came to the City Academy in St George to celebrate sport as part of National School Sport Week, South Africa's head coach Mickey Arthur reflected on a draw with Somerset and looked ahead to the England test series.

PLUS in an unlikely pairing with a serious message, the Wurzels teamed up with Ashton Gate in aid of prostate cancer research, and finally there was a daily dose of showbiz with Will Smith and Charlize Theron as Hancock zoomed into cinemas.

Tuesday 1st July

The Nationwide reported house prices were down again in May. It's the fastest fall since the crash of 1990s. Things will get worse before they get better, we're told.

There was also new research that shows radio beats the internet when it comes to new music.

The Bedminster creator of a website to get sporty types together dropped in for a chat (visit www.sportsmatch.com for more information), Bristol City's Bradley Orr and boss Gary Johnson offer their thoughts on the new season, training camp and transfers, AND there was more trouble in Hollywood as actors threatened to strike.

Monday 30th June

Despite higher levels of crime at this year's Glastonbury, police told us it's still one of the safest festivals in Europe.

Britain's big (but also little) diving hope Tom Daley dropped into John Cabot Academy as part of a drive to get kids to eat more healthily.

Plus Wimbledon fever gripped Bristol's tennis courts as one club reported more people signing up to the sport, the Harbourside was eadied for a new unveiling, and there was a look back at Spain's Euro 2008 win.

Friday 27th June

We were LIVE at the County Ground in Bristol for a weather update as we awaited play between Gloucestershire and Somerset in their last Twenty20 Cup match, but alas it was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

We caught up with officials from the Bristol Old Vic ahead of Dame Judi Dench's arrival for a sell-out Shakespeare performance in aid of the theatre's restoration.

We were also joined by EDF, the sponsors of the Harbour Festival with a look at this year's green and sporty theme, and Piers was back with the Original Movie Review of Wanted, Prince Caspian and The Happening.

Thursday 26th June

The pilgrimage to Glastonbury was upset as fire ripped through a scrapyard in Pylle, resulting in miles of tailbacks and diversions.

We went down to Coulston Primary School in Cotham and spoke to Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg about why he was rolling up his sleeves as a classroom assistant for the day.

We had a fresh perspective on the smoking ban one year on with one Bristol landlady, a recap on Gloucestershire's disastrous Twenty 20 Cup loss to Worcestershire, and a preview of Prince Caspian which hits cinemas today.
